Apple Spice Oatmeal

 

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup old fashioned or steel cut oatmeal

  • 1 cup milk of choice

  • 1 small apple, thinly sliced then cut into thirds 

  • ½ tsp. cinnamon

  • ½ cup applesauce, unsweetened

  • 1 scoop plant protein powder

  • Raw pecans for garnish


Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan combine the oatmeal, milk, apple, and cinnamon. Heat on low until most of the milk is absorbed (stir as needed).

  2. Once most of the milk is absorbed, add in the applesauce and protein powder and stir together.

  3. Once all the applesauce and milk is absorbed, remove from heat.

  4. Garnish with pecans. Serve hot.

  5. Optional: Top with fruit, granola, or drizzle with maple syrup.
